Growth Investment Partners Zambia (GIP Zambia) is pleased to announce the successful deployment of USD 6.4 million in growth capital across two high-impact Zambian businesses: Lubona Meat Products Limited and Africa Engineering Services (AES) Zambia.

At GIP Zambia, our mission is to provide patient growth capital to established local businesses that are creating jobs, strengthening industries, and driving sustainable economic growth. These two investments are a reflection of that commitment.
🔹 USD 5 million-ZMW equivalent investment in Lubona Meat Products Limited will finance ten new climate-controlled poultry houses that will strengthen control over its most critical input: chicken. This backward integration will expand in-house production capacity, secure reliable supply and ensure consistent quality for its processed meat products while scaling the supply of affordable, high-quality protein for Zambian households and strengthening the country’s food security.
🔹 USD 1.4 million investment in Africa Engineering Services (AES) Zambia will support the acquisition of strategic business assets, including quality housing for staff and expansion of operational capacity,, positioning the company for its next phase of growth in Zambia’s mining and industrial sectors.
Why these investments matter:
✅ Expanding local production and strengthening Zambia’s food security
✅ Supporting homegrown businesses to scale and compete more effectively
✅ Creating employment opportunities and developing local talent
✅ Building productive assets and infrastructure that contribute to long-term economic growth
✅ Providing patient, local-currency financing that enables businesses to grow sustainably
Whether it’s putting more Zambian-produced food on Zambian tables or strengthening the businesses that support our mining and industrial sectors, these investments demonstrate the power of partnering with ambitious local enterprises that are building lasting value.
We congratulate the teams at Lubona Meat Products and AES Zambia and look forward to supporting their continued growth and impact.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our shareholders, British International Investment (BII), NAPSA, and Swed fund, whose partnership enables us to continue backing businesses that are creating jobs, unlocking opportunities, and contributing to a stronger, more inclusive Zambian economy.
