Musonda Chipalo, CFA is a seasoned finance professional. He spent much of this career in finance at International Finance Corporation (IFC, part of the World Bank Group) financing companies in Africa (while stationed in Harare, Johannesburg, Lagos, and Nairobi); and in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and South Asia (while stationed in Washington DC). His last IFC positing was in Nairobi where he was Regional Anchor for Manufacturing and Services sectors in East Africa.
Prior to IFC, Musonda was Chief Finance Officer at Masstock Africa, a Zambian agribusiness company, which pioneered in Zambia the cultivation of and marigold and paprika for natural food colour; an auditor at KPMG (Zambia); a Post-Doctoral Mechanical Engineering Research Associate at Newcastle University (UK); and a Mechanical Engineer at Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines.
Musonda left IFC at the end of January 2023 to work with British International Investment (“BII”) to establish Growth Investment Partners Zambia.
Musonda is a CFA Charter holder and an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA). He also holds a PhD (Engineering) from Cambridge University, UK; and a BSc. 1st Class (Mechanical Engineering) from Manchester University, UK.
